We do not recommend the use of the APU1 with Hondas. There will probably never be support for S2000 ECUs with any of our products, sorry.

Hey Corey, the 87 thunderbird turbo-coupe ecu is pretty limited as far as support goes using DIY methods, it can be done but is more of a headache, best bet is to swap the ecu to a newer 94-95 mustang CBAZA strategy ecu

I know its never too late but within a year im sure you have already sorted her out

Hello, I’m using the Ostrich 2.0 on a Motronic 1.1 (86 BMW 535i 059 ECU) and am getting perfect results including hit trace! However, when I try to use the emulator in the car as the eprom, the car dies when I unplug the USB cable from the laptop. Am I missing something here? I know the Ostrich 2.0 has a battery, but I haven’t tested it yet. Is there a setting I’m missing (does the battery need to recharge perhaps)? The software is Tunerpro v.5 beta.

i dont seem to tune engines while driving them.can i do so with crome 1.5.3 on APU1? i tune hondas with DOHC VTEC P30 ranging from year 1996 to 2009. and another problem is that i cant tune honda S2000 cause their ECU isnt using any form of the latters chips?? PLS Advice….

Talk about an informative article. Before I read this I always believed the adapter didn’t even require the stock memcal. I didn’t realize it plugged in on the back of the G1 adapter. I didn’t realize how many functions it took care of.

Still having problems with my tune, but there’s no doubt it’s on my end and NOT on craigs hardware. A+

I used the Ostrich 2.0 to tune a 60*V6 Chevy and drove on it without burning a chip as I was constantly tuning it. Now I have moved on to a ’93 Caprice wagon that I’ll be putting a built 350 or 383 in very soon. I’ll be counting on my Ostrich to do the job once again. Great product and all of my tuning equipment came from Craig.

Been using it for a while now. Yes, I’m impressed. I can send a change to my tune to QH without even shutting down. If I have a lean spot, I just make an edit and update QH, and it’s done. It only takes seconds. It’s too bad that the laptop is so hard to use. That’s the only reason pull over in the tune on the fly process.

Socket Booster is NOT needed w/ DSM. If you want to use speed density and get rid of your MAF and you have a 1g turbo car, visit http://www.ds-map.net. We have been running a speed density project since 2005 now that incorporates the Moate’s Ostrich for real time tuning.

The Ostrich is hands down the best purchase I have ever made for my vehicle. I recommend it to everyone, even the eprom jockey’s that think that there is nothing that can make burning chips second place…. well there is, it’s the Ostrich Emulator. Great product Craig, keep up the awesome work!

There are a couple ways to impliment use of the G1 in the P4 style ECM.

One way is to remove the cover of the ECM, install the G1 and MEMCAL together and then put teh ECM cover back on.

The way I do it, is to remove the blue plastoc cover from the MEMCAL, attach the MEMCAL to the G1 and then slide it into the ECM. The MEMCAL seems to be just a tab too large to fit without removing the blue cover.

Great product, I’m using it tuning Nissan Skylines on the dyno with a different ecu from another car. I use the Nistune software which is fully compatible with the ostrich 2.0

I am not sure how I did it, but my chip (AT29C256) will not burn correctly. At first, due to me not reading the instructions carefully enough, put the chip in wrong. I cannot get it to burn correctly. The first four address lines (00 – 03) in the hex editor show only FF in every slot. I have ordered another chip (SST 27SF512 ) on the assumption that I have ruined the one I have. How can I tell for sure If the chip is bad or if the BURN2 unit is bad?

I bought a G1 Adapter for my GMC TYPHOON and the adapter with the Stock Mem cal and chip will not fit in the EMC hole. Is there a special way to get in in there or am in missing something.
