To perform an auto to manual conversion on an OBD I Honda ECU, use the following procedure:
- Verify that you have an Automatic. You will know if there are resistors in RP17 and RP18 (next to the EEPROM)
- Remove RP17 and RP18
- Replace RP18 with a jumper. (The one you removed from J12 usually works well, or just a paperclip)
When you are done, the resistors should look like this:
